Paula Krause
Berlin-based artist Paula Krause studied art at the Universität der Künste Berlin. Master Student of Prof. Burkhard Held. In 2020 she got a „Dorothea Konwiarz Foundation“ fellowship and was nominated the same year for the „Schulz Stübner Prize for Painting".
In her paintings, she deals with perceptions of currently pressing issues and the eternally human - power, love, rebellion. She observes the contradictions of the modern urban society as isolating and violent, and uses painting as a free space that is not occupied by trends and impositions, allowing a return to one's own self. This painterly exploration gives her the opportunity to slow down what is accelerated and to differentiate what is overwhelming.
Her paintings aim to show the whole human being without fear and to reconcile them with themselves.
